Interaction between Vitamin D-Related Genetic Risk Score and Carbohydrate Intake on Body Fat Composition: A Study in Southeast Asian Minangkabau Women

چکیده

Metabolic diseases have been shown to be associated with low vitamin D status; however, the findings inconsistent. Hence, objective of our study was investigate relationship between status and metabolic disease-related traits in healthy Southeast Asian women examine whether this modified by dietary factors using a nutrigenetic study. The included 110 Minangkabau (age: 25–60 years) from Padang, Indonesia. Genetic risk scores (GRS) were constructed based on five D-related single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (vitamin D-GRS) ten disease-associated SNPs (metabolic-GRS). metabolic-GRS significantly lower 25-hydroxyvitamin (25(OH)D) concentrations (p = 0.009) higher body mass index (BMI) 0.016). Even though D-GRS had no effect > 0.12), an interaction observed carbohydrate intake (g) fat percentage (BFP) (pinteraction 0.049), where those individuals who consumed high diet (mean ± SD: 319 g/d 46) carried >2 D-lowering alleles BFP In summary, we replicated association BMI 25(OH)D identified novel composition.

Effect of Vitamin D Supplement Consumption on Muscle Strength, Muscle Function and Body Composition in Vitamin D-deficient Middle-aged Women: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Background and Objectives: Sarcopenia is explained as the loss of muscle strength and muscle mass with aging‚ and is one of the major risk factors for metabolic diseases. Cross-sectional studies demonstrate that vitamin D is associated with sarcopenia in both men and women. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of vitamin D supplement consumption on muscle strength, muscle f...

Association between Vitamin D Genetic Risk Score and Cancer Risk in a Large Cohort of U.S. Women

Some observational studies suggest an inverse association between circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) and cancer incidence and mortality. We conducted a Mendelian randomization analysis of the relationship between a vitamin D genetic risk score (GRS, range 0-10), comprised of five single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of vitamin D status in the DHCR7, CYP2R1 and GC genes and cancer risk am...

Effects of intermittent feeding on compensatory growth, feed intake and body composition in Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer)

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of various starvation and refeeding periods on growth, feed utilization and body composition in Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer) with an average initial weight of 30.26±1.4 g (mean±SE). The fish were exposed to three different regimes: the control group fed twice daily to apparent satiation throughout the experiment (C), th...

Effects of Feeding Rumen Protected Choline and Vitamin E on Milk Yield, Milk Composition, Dry Matter Intake, BodyCondition Score and Body Weight in Early Lactating Dairy Cows

Twenty four primiparous and multiparous Holstein cows on early lactation, beginning five weeks postpartum, were used for four weeks to investigate the effects of supplemention of rumen-protected choline (RPC) or vitamin E on milk yield, milk composition, dry matter intake, body condition score and body weight. The cows were randomly assigned to one of the following treatments: I)no supplement (...
